Alaska Center for Resource Families
ACRF has offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Mat-Su and Juneau. Through onsite, distance education and teleconference training, we provide the training necessary to become foster parents or to meet on-going training requirements for maintaining a foster care license. Whether you live in urban or rural Alaska, we can provide you with books or videos, selfstudy courses and on-site or telephonic trainings, as well as one on one support and training.
Pre and post adoption and guardianship support services are available regardless of whether your child was adopted or placed under guardianship through a State, Tribal, relative, private, or international process. Northwest Adoption Exchange
The Northwest Adoption Exchange staff members offer educational opportunities for adoption professionals and social workers in private practice throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In King County, Washington, the exchange facilitates the scheduling, registration, and training of free 28-hour Foster Care and Adoptive Parent Preparation classes in King County, Washington. The class is offered as a joint effort of the Division of Children and Family Services, the Division of Licensed Resources, and private adoption agencies. www.nwae.org
Oregon Post Adoption Resource Center
ORPARC offers parenting education specifically designed for adoptive and guardianship families. The training is offered throughout the state at no charge to eligible users. Translation services and special accommodations are also available. Some workshops may be open to non-eligible adoptive parents and professionals as space allows and for a fee. ORPARC also maintains a lending library of materials related to adoption, guardianship, parenting, child development, and special needs. www.orparc.org
